Departure from Antananarivo in the morning. Mountainous and semi-arid landscapes. Arrival in Ampefy at the end of the morning. Lunch then installation at the hotel.
Free time. Night at the hotel.
Walk for about an hour to the 20-meter high Lily Falls, a real attraction in the region. On the way, you will cross several small villages with their red earthen houses and thatched roofs. You will also discover corn and manioc fields. The landscape is very typical of the regions of the Highlands. Possibility to take a dip in the clear and warm water of the Chute. Local craftsmen will come on the spot to propose you various articles such as the pumice stones made from the lava of volcano. Return to the hotel by car or on foot according to your wishes.
It is the starting point of the visit of the lake Itasy. (The islet of the Virgin) is considered as the center of Madagascar. Its terrace offers us an impregnable view on the Lake Itasy, formed from an ancient crater of volcano. As its name indicates it, a statue of the Virgin is erected at this place emerged from waters. From there, it is possible to embark on a traditional pirogue to go around the lake. It will be the occasion to meet the fishermen of the region, the Lake Itasy being very fishy. Return to the hotel.
After the breakfast, departure for the geysers of Analavory located at about twenty kilometers from Ampefy. This place is another wonder of nature, thanks to the spouting of several hot water sources in a discontinuous way. This phenomenon would be caused by the contact of water with volcanic rocks at high temperature. This permanent spectacle is really worth the detour. You could even take a bath, especially since the hot water gushing out of the rocks is said to have healing properties. Return to the hotel.
After breakfast, we immediately take the road for the return trip to Antananarivo.

This was not our first time going to here. It is a great place to shop not too far from New York. We took the bus from Port Authority and traveled through the countryside to get there.
